Registration reminder, batting cage use, upcoming softball and baseball clinics

REGISTRATION DEADLINE COMING UP SOON

Updated Sunday January 28, 2018 by Mike Spillane.

Spring season is just around the corner. The 2018 spring baseball and softball seasons with the Pennsbury Athletic Association. Registration is available at http://paaball.com and runs through Feb. 15. T-Ball registration will last until March 1.

It will be especially important for 8- and 9-year-old baseball players who want to play at the Triple-A division to sign up before the player evaluation is held on Feb. 10 at Nation9. The 8- and 9-year-olds will be split into Triple-A and Double-A this season to better balance the competitive level at those age groups. The Major/Minor evaluations for new 10- through 12-year-olds will be Feb. 17 at Nation9.

BATTING CAGES

Players and coaches are welcome to use the batting cages at any of our fields, but PLEASE CLOSE THE CAGES when you are finished. We had an unfortunate incident where an animal ended up stuck, so please close them up the best you can when you are finished.

Session 1:
5/6U Players for basic throwing, catching, fielding, batting drills with emphasis on quality technique. 5/6U Coaches/Parents with Coach Ehrenfeld to discuss season expectations, instructional and developmental beginnings, etc.

Session 2:
12U Players for refresher on throwing, fielding with emphasis on intentional play with increased speed. 12U Pitchers/Catchers for refresher on technical basics.
12U Coaches meet with Coach Ehrenfeld and Storlazzi to discuss season expectations, development, and tactics.

Session 3:
8U / 10U Coaches ONLY meet with select Pennsbury Softball Coaches - no players. This is a brief session on coaching the coaches. It will be used to show age appropriate concepts and how to instruct the youth by breaking down drills and having them understand the why, not just the how. We will also use this as an opportunity to pass out resources and information on these critical age groups!

Session 4:
8U Players basic throwing, catching, fielding, batting drills with emphasis on quality technique.

8U Coaches/Parents watch and help as Coach Ehrenfeld and select Pennsbury Coaches run a 'practice' using older qualified girls through these basic technical concepts. There will be a break with a video projection of fastpitch softball, a mini pitching clinic to show girls/parents what's coming before the end of the season, and additional material distributed (important dates, contact information, rosters, etc.). We'll make it fun with some games/prizes.

Session 5:
10U Players for refreshers in throwing, catching, fielding, batting drills with emphasis on quality technique.

10U Coaches watch and help as Coaches Ehrenfeld, Storlazzi, Evanchik, and other select Pennsbury Coaches run a 'practice' using some older qualified girls through these basic technical concepts. There will be a break with a video projection of fastpitch softball, a mini pitching clinic to show girls/parents that this is now a fundamental part of the game, and additional material distributed (important dates, contact information, rosters, etc.). We'll make it fun with some games/prizes.
